Not what I expected, but SEGA has officially confirmed that Yakuza Wars will be a mobile-exclusive strategy game. This announcement, made via the game’s Facebook page, has surprised and disappointed many longtime fans who were hoping for a broader release across more platforms.
Yakuza Wars continues the crime-themed narrative the series is known for, but shifts to a strategic gameplay model. Players can team up with legendary characters like Kazuma Kiryu, Ichiban Kasuga, and Goro Majima to seize territories, expand influence, and build wealth in the city. Screenshots and a first-look video were also shared, offering a glimpse into the game’s visuals, and… I don’t like something like that for the franchise.
The Yakuza franchise, which debuted in 2005, has grown into a beloved series known for its action-packed combat, RPG elements, and deep storytelling. While Yakuza Wars has been confirmed for the Asian market, there is no word yet on a global release. We don’t have links or even the official website beside the Facebook Page.
