The newest mobile entry in the King of Fighters franchise, The King of Fighters AFK, has been released in early access for Android and iOS users in Thailand and Canada. Following last week’s pre-registration, fans in these regions can now dive into this retro RPG-inspired take on the fighting game series. Progress made during early access will carry over to the full release, according to NetMarble, offering players a head start.
The King of Fighters AFK reimagines iconic characters from the series in a 5v5 auto-battler format, blending strategic deck-building with nostalgic, Neo-Geo Pocket-inspired pixel art. Early access players are treated to a guaranteed recruitment of Mature from the Orochi Clan, giving them a powerful character right out of the gate. While this title marks a significant departure from the classic beat-’em-up style fans are used to, the promise of retro charm and laid-back action could win over both loyal fans and new players.
If you are in these regions, go to the Google Play Store or the iOS App Store. If not, just pre-register and wait for the release date (January 27).
