After the pre-registration phase, Studio 2PRO and Drecom have announced the release of Wizardry Variants Daphne, a free-to-play, turn-based dungeon-crawling RPG, on Android and iOS on October 15, 2024. The Japanese studio also noted that the PC Steam version will follow at a later date.
Set in a dark fantasy world, the game’s story follows the opening of the Abyss—a curse that threatens the world—placing players in the role of adventurers who must navigate deadly traps and powerful enemies. The game promises a high level of difficulty, like the other Wizardy games.
Wizardry Variants Daphne features first-person, grid-based navigation and intense, action-oriented turn-based combat where players can issue commands like fighting, casting spells, and using skills. Players can also resurrect allies and customize their party using a combination of races and classes.
Character designs are handled by renowned artist Yusuke Kozaki, with boss monsters designed by Katsuya Terada, and music composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto. Although the studio behind the game is Japanese, there will be English support. Players can pre-register now on the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android.
