Girls Frontline prepares for Steam debut, expanding beyond mobile

The global version of Girls Frontline (EN) is gearing up for a PC debut via Steam, an interesting expansion of the popular mobile gacha game. According to the official Twitter/X announcement by publisher Sunborn Network Technology (operated as Darkwinter Software), the Steam launch is “incoming” though an exact date has yet to be confirmed. The game’s Steam store page already lists it as “Coming Soon” under the PC label.

Originally developed by Chinese studio MICA Team and launched globally in May 2018, Girls’ Frontline casts players in the role of a “Commander” overseeing squads of android characters known as T-Dolls, each modeled after real-world firearms.

On mobile, the game gained a strong following thanks to its parsing of tactical map movement, resource management and gacha mechanics woven into a story-rich sci-fi setting. The Steam port will include full English interface and subtitles.

For players and collectors of T-Dolls, the Steam version (here you can pre-order) could open up new convenience (keyboard/mouse control, larger displays), as well as potential PC-specific events or bundles. However, the absence of a firm launch date means that interested users are advised to add the game to their Steam wishlist and monitor official channels for updates.
