Korean devs NCSoft has officially unveiled Horizon Steel Frontiers, a new MMORPG set in the world of Horizon, during the G-Star 2025 showcase. Developed in collaboration with Guerrilla Games, the original creators of Horizon Zero Dawn franchise. This is an interesting expansion of the franchise into the mobile and PC MMORPG space.
Set in the Deadlands, a new region within the Horizon universe inspired by the American Southwest, Horizon Steel Frontiers introduces players to a frontier teeming with machine threats, tribal factions, and survival challenges. While the game does not feature Aloy or other mainline characters, it retains the series’ iconic themes of machine hunting, exploration, and environmental storytelling.
The game will offer deep character customization, large-scale raids, and real-time combat, blending traditional MMO systems with the tactical action of the original games.
