KonoSuba: Prosperity to This Beloved Town! Delayed to February 2027
KADOKAWA pushes the KonoSuba town-building RPG back to February 2027, saying the team needs more time for development and tuning. Pre-registration stays open in Japan.
The KonoSuba mobile game has slipped again. KADOKAWA announced on October 5, 2026 that KonoSuba: Prosperity to This Beloved Town! — known in Japan as Machi-suba — is now scheduled for February 2027 instead of 2026.
The statement gives only the month and no specific day. The team attributes the change to needing additional time for development and tuning, and apologises for the longer wait. The title had been expected in 2026, so the move pushes it out of its original window; it was unveiled for PC and mobile earlier this year.
Not everything has moved. Pre-registration is still open on the Japanese App Store and Google Play, and the platforms are unchanged: iOS, Android and PC, with the PC release handled by DMM GAMES. The game remains Japan-only for now, and no global or English version has been announced; the store listings require a Japanese account. In September the project also named Machico, who performed the opening themes of the anime, as its theme song singer.
As for what the game actually is, Machi-suba splits into two halves. Between quests, players rebuild the town of Axel — the starting town of the series — and raise its rank. Out in the field, battles are fully 3D, with Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin and Darkness fighting as a party of four.
The story is new rather than a retelling of the anime. Light novel author Natsume Akatsuki supervises it, illustrator Kurone Mishima is involved on the visual side, and the anime voice cast returns, led by Jun Fukushima as Kazuma and Sora Amamiya as Aqua. It is the franchise’s first mobile game since KonoSuba: Fantastic Days, which shut down in Japan and globally in January 2025.
