Sentenced to Be a Hero - Game of the GODDESS Announced for iOS and Android
KADOKAWA and VIC GAME STUDIOS reveal Sentenced to Be a Hero - Game of the GODDESS, a new mobile project based on the dark fantasy light novel series.
KADOKAWA and VIC GAME STUDIOS have unveiled Sentenced to Be a Hero - Game of the GODDESS- (勇者刑に処す -Game of the GODDESS-), a brand-new game project based on the dark fantasy light novel series Sentenced to Be a Hero. The japanese dev team presented a new key visual, a second promotional video, and the first look at game-original characters. The title is confirmed for iOS and Android. Sadly, Japan-only for now.
The original series (勇者刑に処す 懲罰勇者9004隊刑務記録) is written by Rocket Shokai and published under Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko label, and it has already inspired an anime adaptation. It follows Xylo Forbartz, a prisoner handed the so-called hero punishment, a sentence that forces convicts to fight on the front lines as penal heroes. He serves in the 9004th Penal Hero Battalion alongside the goddess Teoritta. According to the announcement, the game’s original storyline is supervised by Rocket Shokai himself, keeping the project tied to the source material rather than acting as a loose spin-off.
The second trailer introduces two game-original characters: Noi Margella (CV: Miyu Tomita) and Lisabella (CV: Fuka Izumi). Both share the same “contractor and goddess” relationship as the protagonists, expanding the cast beyond the novel and anime. The returning leads include Yōhei Azakami as Xylo Forbartz and Mayu Iizuka as Teoritta, with Shizuka Ishigami and Shun Horie also named in the cast.
Gameplay details are still under wraps. Kadokawa currently lists the release date as undecided and has not yet disclosed the genre, and there is no official website or store listing at the time of writing. The project is credited to KADOKAWA and VIC GAME STUDIOS, the South Korean studio behind Black Clover Mobile and LIMIT ZERO BREAKERS.
For fans of the franchise, this is an early-stage announcement rather than a launch, so there is nothing to pre-register for just yet. Expect more information — likely gameplay footage, a genre reveal and eventually a release window — at a later showcase. We will update this article as soon as KADOKAWA shares the next batch of details via their official X account.
