Devolver Digital and Playdigious are cooking something really special. Loop Hero is a new roguelike RPG game coming to Android and iOS this April 30th. The game looks really good (remember it is a port from the Switch version). How do I know? Well, Playdigious published a gameplay trailer where we can see the art style, the combat, and how is this game going to be on mobile devices.
At first glance we can see that it has a retro artistic style, but that also extends to the menus, how the game looks and how we interact with it. It has high doses of exploration, RPG elements and turn-based fights, etc. Although the fact that it uses a retro pixel art style may not attract many players, it is important to note that there is a very large niche that loves this type of game.
Loop Hero will adopt a free-to-start model on mobile. The free version will provide access to the first chapter, with the option to purchase the full game via in-app purchase with a price set at $6.99. Pre-ordering grants a 10% discount on this price. Playdigious has confirmed several enhancements for the mobile version, including cloud save support, Game Center achievements, a redesigned interface optimized for mobile, compatibility with iPhone 15, and MFi controller support.
You can pre register on the Google App Store or App Store for iOS.
