MOONTON Games has initiated a closed beta test for their upcoming 2D RPG, Silver and Scarlet, in China. This may sound familiar, and it is. There was an earlier test in Japan and the United States of the same game, but under the name Silver and Blood, name which I liked more.
The game is set in a medieval Gothic world, Silver and Scarlet will have over 45 characters known as Vassals, each belonging to one of four distinct factions with unique backstories and abilities. The game features auto-chess mechanics on a nine-square grid before battles. Devs promises a rich narrative enhanced by anime-style visuals and fully animated cutscenes.
The current closed beta commenced on February 20, 2025, in China. MOONTON Games has also established official accounts for the game on platforms like Bilibili and Douyin, signaling a broader marketing push, according to 3839 Boards. Notably, the game received its version number approval in October 2024, indicating significant progress toward an official release.
