HK TEN TREE has announced that Steel Storm – Metal Storm (Mecharashi), a high-end strategy RPG (SRPG), will officially launch on October 23, 2024, for PC, iOS, and Android in the Asian region. In this game, players command mechas known as “ST” units in grid-based, strategic battles.
Originally announced as FRONT MISSION: BORDERSCAPE in 2022, the game was later renamed Mecharashi before adopting its current title. Set on the war-torn Mihama Island, players take on the role of a commander navigating intense battles over valuable resources, aiming to achieve specific objectives on each stage.
Pre-registration for Steel Storm – Metal Storm Mecharasi is now open, with over 500,000 users already registered (according to the official website). If the total reaches 1 million, players will receive additional rewards, including 10 ST Catalog Gacha Tickets.
For now the game is limited to Japan and a few other regions in Asia, the releases there are a bit strange in terms of distribution: here is the Apple App Store link and this the Android Google Play. Now, will there be a global version? I hope so, because of the number of registrations, if it ends up being a success, it is very possible.
